New artist focused community site called AREA

On August 22, 2006, Autodesk launched a community portal focused on artists and developers using Autodesk® 3D products called AREA (www.the-area.com). Initially, the site will focus on content created using Autodesk® Maya®, Autodesk® 3ds Max®, Autodesk® MotionBuilder™, or Autodesk® VIZ software products used in games, film, post production, or design visualization. Membership is free.
