Its possible to make most, if not all executable files run as screen savers by renaming them from exe to scr, THIS DOES NOT MAKE IT A SCREEN SAVER.When you rename a file to scr it will appear in the screen saver list (if in correct folder) simply because Windows looks for that extention type when filling the drop list. When the exe you renamed is choosen from the list it will instantly run. This is because windows runs the scr file with the parameter /p. This is it to start the preview (not the preview button) you normaly see with regular screen savers. If you do not mind this instant execution of the file you should be able to run your renamed file with no harmfull effects (that i know of).Heres a list of game options i recommend using when making a "screensaver"- Enable "Start in full-screen mode".- Set "Scale percentage in fullscreen mode (0=max)" to 0.- Disable F1 from opening game information.- Disable F4 from switching screen modes.- Disable F5 and F6 from saving and loading of the game. The rest should be left default.. unless you need constants or want to change the loading bar.
